Correspondences The tradition in the Contemporary
Group exhibition
From 26 October to 8 November 2019
National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia
It is tracked through sixteen artists who today move the references and elective affinities with the great Etruscan tradition in the Italian panorama. Spacing between the portrait and the figure, between the research around the body and that around the narrative, experimenting with the most diverse materials and investigating the man, the artists on display managed to reinterpret the past without ever betraying their most authentic inspiration.

“It is not known exactly what it was for, but the dodecahedron was found in excavations in Veneto, Germany and France. The dating is at the turn of the dominion of Etruscan culture and the Roman one, so much so that it comes Quoted both as “Roman Dodecahedron” and “Etruscan Dodecahedron”. Perhaps it was used as a tool of ballistic or agricultural calculation, the fact is that this platonic solid, perfect in invoices, travels over time. And it reaches us in the most technological form, cold sterile , of a metallic dodecahedron, through the traveler who assumes the ionic expression of the Etruscan sculptures (particular reference to Vejo’s Apollo), but with physical and modern pictorial technique.
and in his flight over time, he joins the remote past (at the top) to the near future, leaving us a perfect object in the material and in features, as if to invite us to explore the future.
The support in PVC, the study of the subject with 3D software and the pictorial execution with aerographer acrylic is the invitation to look to the future, always, however, with a look at the past, which is the source of our present and future “
