About the work
“According to one version of the myth, the main one, the phoenix has become the symbol of death and resurrection; in fact it is said” like the phoenix rising from its own ashes “.
After living for 500 years, the Phoenix felt her death approaching, she retreated to a secluded place and built a nest on top of an oak or palm “ em> div>
“Fenice” is part of the “Sands Immobile” series, in which human figures emerge from the surface, sometimes blocked by matter and sometimes free from it.
The human figures do not seem real, despite being painted with realism, with an accentuated physicality, but robotic, unreal, artificial. This contrast between real and unreal is the basis of the language of this series.

Fenice is the momentum of rebirth, it is the liberation that gives new life. The partially immersed figure extends upwards, towards the light of hope, while geometric solids hold it back, stopping the birth.
