About the work

A face emerges behind a surface that seems to separate it from the world, while the hands search for an opening, a contact, a way through. The gaze, the only sharp and direct focal point, becomes the emotional core of the work.

In Beyond…, Giampiero Abate explores the tension between constraint and freedom, between what holds us back and the desire to overcome both visible and inner boundaries. Breath thus becomes a metaphor for existence, resistance, and the search for a new space beyond the limit.
