References and inspiration
This painting is part of my series “Still Sands” that represent those sensations of immobility in difficult situations, when for choice or for necessity one cannot change the current state.
Description
Deeply linked to the theme of femicides and gender-based violence, in Unbearably Pressure the female figure is crouching, in a protective position and protects her head with her right hand.
The “marshy” condition in this case represents that inability to be able to change the current state, to be able to move away from the dangerous situation, to be able to save oneself.
Often, unfortunately, victims tend to initially defend or minimize their attacker.
Succeeding to oppose the condition of Still Sands means being able to succeed, most of the time, to save one’s own safety or even one’s own life
Technique
The acrylic and airbrush is the favorite technique by Giampiero Abate, which allows it to reach almost hyper -realistic details in subjects who, in their nature, are not.
Humanoids with physically status of ancient Greece or Rome, but in metaphysical environments and usually with eyes without iris; This particular element in particular creates the interpretative confusion of the observer who cannot catalog in his mind if it is realism or imagination.
Also at the limits of the Ultrareal
Designed with 3D software such as Daz3d , the render is then created and transferred to the canvas, to be painted and completed
